Defogging Pads

How long will the defogging pad last?

The 120V pad has a life span of 8 to 15 years depending on usage. It is comprised of PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) resistance wire, producing an electric circuit made of enamel-insulated wire or resistance wire.

How thick is the defogging pad?

All Pebble Grey Mirrors use a slim line defogging pad of thickness 0.4mm, positioned neatly behind the mirror.

Does my defogging pad only work when the lights are on?

Yes, the defogging pad is activated when you turn on the mirror lights. The pad remains activated as long as the lights are on.

How hot does the defogging pad get?

The defogging pad heats the surface of the bathroom mirror by a few degrees higher than the room temperature in around 15 seconds. The defogging pads are made to produce a fixed number of Watts per square meter and so the device can run consistently and safely on full power without over-heating.

Is the defogging pad energy efficient?

Value is paramount at Pebble Grey. There is no need to worry about leaving the defogging pad constantly active. Our illuminated and LED mirrors are uniquely manufactured and designed with energy saving components to maintain a low running cost compared to other backlit mirrors on the market.

What is the difference between Pebble Grey defogging pads and other technologies?

Pebble Grey illuminated and LED mirrors are pre-installed with full-size defogging pads and do not rely on the heat produced from the lamps. This type of technology requires more energy and does not reliably defog the mirror.
